Intro to Visual Mode

Sometimes you want to see what you are operating on before executing an action. That's where **visual mode** comes in.

Pressing `v` enters character-wise visual mode. You can expand the selection using any movement key (`w`, `e`, `l`, `j`, etc.).

Visual mode basics

  • venter character-wise visual mode
  • esccancel visual mode and return to normal mode

Move onto `Select`, press `v`, and press `e` a couple of times. Watch the highlight expand! Press `esc` to cancel.
